As most of you would
know by now, Bev Scott, cavy lover extraordinaire passed away on 27
September 2004 from a massive heart attack at the age of just 62.
We, the Scott family,
would really like to extend our thanks to those who sent flowers, sympathy
cards, provided kind words of support, or who attended the funeral.
But more importantly, we would like to thank you all, her many long-term friends, as
you helped to make Bev's life a much richer experience through your kindness,
friendship, and comraderie.
For more than 30 years,
Bev had been involved with guinea pigs in one way or another.
Keeping guinea pigs started off as a simple hobby, then rapidly grow into a passion for
showing, breeding, and judging, all the while contributing to the development of cavies in
Australia.
We would like to say a
special thank you to John and Dell Boag, who were with Bev when she passed away. It's
quite ironic that she was in Townsville at the time.
And what was she doing in Townsville that weekend I hear you ask?
Why...judging a guinea pig show, of course!!
Another big thank you
goes to Mike Gill. Mike had the unenviable task to telling the family the bad news, as we
could not be reached by phone due to the many calls from Bev's concerned family and
friends.
More than 120 family and
friends attended the funeral on 5 October 2004 in Brisbane.
Whilst it was a very sad day for us all, it was comforting to see so many people
show their support and love for a wonderful person we will all miss very much.
Many thanks from the
Scott family
(Jock, Janine, Glenn, Michelle, Brooke, Kyra, and Stephen).
